Joan Mir, the 2020 MotoGP world champion, will be absent from the Japanese and Indonesian grands prix, Honda announced on Tuesday.
Mir retired early from the San Marino GP on September 13 due to physical issues.
Following the race, he traveled to Barcelona for medical evaluations to determine his fitness to compete.
Despite hopes for a swift return, Mir’s recovery is ongoing, prompting Honda to rule him out of the next two rounds.
The Tokyo-based team remains committed to supporting Mir’s rehabilitation as he aims to return to full racing condition.
His absence leaves a gap in Honda’s lineup as the season progresses.
