Dakar Rally to Relocate 2027 Event Away from Saudi Arabia Amid Geopolitical Concerns
The 2027 Dakar Rally will not be held in Saudi Arabia as originally planned, with organisers announcing a new location to be revealed soon.
Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) and Saudi Motorsport Company (SMC) have jointly confirmed that the 2027 Dakar Rally will be moved out of Saudi Arabia.
The decision comes due to the prevailing geopolitical situation in the Middle East, which has made it impossible to safely stage the event in the region.
While the 2027 edition was initially scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia, organisers are now seeking an alternative location to host the iconic rally.
Details regarding the new venue are yet to be disclosed, with an official announcement expected in the near future.
This relocation marks a significant shift for the Dakar Rally, which has been held in Saudi Arabia since 2020.
