Renault Sells Historic Viry-Chatillon F1 Engine Facility to Dumarey Group

Renault has finalized an agreement to sell its Viry-Chatillon engine facility, long renowned for its Formula 1 engine development, to the Belgian Dumarey Group.

The Dumarey Group, known for its expertise in powertrain technology and engineering components for mass-market vehicles, plans to take over the French site.

The acquisition proposal has been formally submitted to Alpine Racing, Renault’s F1 team.

This move signals a strategic pivot for Renault, as the Viry-Chatillon site transitions from a dedicated F1 engine hub to a broader technology and development center under new ownership.

The sale reflects evolving priorities within Renault’s motorsport and powertrain operations, while preserving the facility’s legacy in automotive engineering.
